This is a 12yo Cragganmore from last year's Diageo Special Release. It is a very different Cragganmore to what we know it to be. It is peaty and earthy, almost Mezcal-like. Drawn from refill American Oak that had previously held "medium" peated whisky. This expression was made as a trial in 2006.
Tasting notes:
Fresh and grassy, heather, apples and pears, Mezcal. Palate has orchard fruits such as red apples, quite a good amount of savouriness, peat, peppery and ashy.
