Waterford Distillery in Ireland is all about terroir and transparency. Every release tells us where the barley has come from, and once you enter the Terroir Code at the back of the bottle into Waterford's website, you can even see who the farmer is, the type of soil the barley was grown on, and even to the type of yeast, fermentation times, and which casks were used for the production.

The malts for this production came from Bannow Island. The barley farmer is Ed Harpur. Distilled in 2016 and bottled in 2020, the whisky is 3 years and 10 months old. The cask types used were 1st Fill US First Fill, Virgin US Barrels, Premium French Casks, and Vin Doux Naturel.

Tasting note:

Spicy nose, raisins, marzipan and honey. Palate is balanced. Spicy and sweet, cinnamon, spiced bread, caramel, marzipan. Brilliant whisky.
