A great collaboration between 2 fantastic Aussie distilleries, Fleurieu Distillery in South Australia and Black Gate Distillery in Mendooran, in New South Wales.
This is a vatting of whiskies made at both distilleries from heavily peated Scottish malts, and they were matured in Tawny & Apera casks. 300 bottles produced and bottled at 48%.
Tasting notes:
Brown sugar, orange peel, rich, toffee, spices and dates. Palate has some walnuts, tobacco, a slight hint of young spirit but still very drinkable. Nutty and dry, definitely more peat on the palate than the nose. Medium sweet. A very good blended malt from Australia!
